We started Mandavo for a simple reason: to make the kind of game we would have loved growing up.
The kind of game where you can spend an entire evening doing absolutely nothing important and still feel like you’ve had an adventure. Where a strange little character, a familiar melody, or a place hidden off the beaten path stays with you long after you’ve stopped playing.
That’s what we’re working towards with Astra Globula.
We’re a small, independent studio, and we’re not interested in pretending otherwise. We don’t have a catalogue of games or decades of achievements behind us. We’re building our first world, one piece at a time, and learning plenty along the way.
We use modern tools, but we don’t believe technology alone makes a good game. What matters to us is the thought behind things. The details someone took the time to add. The ideas that might seem unnecessary but make a world feel like it has a personality of its own.
We also believe a game should earn its players’ support, not pressure them into spending. No pay-to-win, no gambling disguised as entertainment, and no deliberately inconvenient systems designed to sell the solution.
And we intend to stay independent. Not because we think bigger studios are inherently bad, but because we want the freedom to make our own decisions, even when those decisions aren’t the most profitable ones.
We want Mandavo to grow. We want to make a living doing what we love, and hopefully one day bring other people along who share that passion.
But we don’t want to lose the reason we started.
For now, that means putting everything we’ve got into Astra Globula.
And seeing where this little world takes us.
